Nengajyo , or New Year's cards, is an important tradition in Japan.
Even people who hardly ever send letters make an effort to post New Year's cards by Dec.20th. Nengajo is similar to Christmas cards in the West, though there is no religious significance.
Nengajo often use the present year's zodiacal animal as the design. The animal of the year 2009 is the Ox (Ushi).

People in Japan are going bananas over the Morning Banana Diet
Morning Banana Diet claimed that consuming only 1 banana and room temperature water for breakfast fuelled weight loss, regardless of what was eaten during the rest of the day. So much so that there are reports of a banana shortage there as eager dieters gobble them up. A bunch of banana costs 158 yen. Cheap or not?

It’s first come, first served for the Cherry Blossom Tours !!
Cherry blossoms mark the annual advent of spring, and the Japanese have traditionally celebrated this with “hanami”. Hanami, literally meaning flower-viewing, are parties that are held under blossoming cherry tress. Throughout Japan, in parks, shrines, temples, and on river banks, crowds flock to picnic under the sea of pink blossoms. Many popular spots are illuminated in the evenings and special facilities are laid out for the visiting hoards.
Must Places in Winter
There are many spots to visit in winter in Japan.
When winter comes, trees shed their leaves and people out on more coverings.
But trees and people go back to their origins.
Bathing with the snow all around is a highlight of winter.

Try Onsen and you will discover there is no better way to relax and unwind than warming your body in an open-air bath surrounded by nature and time less scenes of old Japan. you will discover there is no better way to relax and unwind than warming your body in an open-air bath surrounded by nature and time less scenes of old Japan.
