This used to be a popular pastime among children in the winter. Nowadays Kites may be flown for recreation, art or other practical uses. Sport kites can be flown in aerial ballet, sometimes as part of a competition. Power kites are multi-line steerable kites designed to generate large forces which can be used to power activities such as kite surfing, kite landboarding or kite buggying.

JICHINSAI is a kind of Shinto ceremony which takes place at a new building site before starting actual construction.It has a symbolic meaning of purifying a building site and wishing safety in thecourse of the construction.Generally, people concerned with the construction, both constructors and ordering party participate in the ceremony.

HINAMATSURI (GIRL'S FESTIVAL)
